Democracy is not just about elections. We are losing the battle to keep what little democracy still exists because we gave long ago given up trying teach it and live it in our lives. For democracy is something that must be lived in our hearts and minds. It is something we must be practicing daily. It is about sharing power and ultimately caring about all members of our wider American communities to ensure they all have access to that power. We have become a nation bent on giving power to those who are wealthy and white and ignoring those who are not. The Republicans are now prepared to put a final nail in the coffin in which we have placed the modicum of democracy we have left. The only way out of this morass is to cling to the path of learning and practicing the fundamentals of democracy not just focusing on elections which are merely a reflection of belief and daily practice. {in response to NY Times article: I Was Wrong About Donald Trump}
